So you’re not posting as often or as much as you should, eh? Lots of in-house marketing teams have a hard time keeping up with the quick cadence content demands. One way to make sure it doesn’t slip through the cracks is by establishing a routine. Here’s how you can make content part of your daily to-do list, so it doesn’t fall by the wayside.

1. Set a Goal

How many times per week or month do you want to post to your blog, social accounts, or in contributorships? It’s easiest to figure this out if you make a goal and stick to it. We all want to shoot for the moon, but sometimes expectatations are impossible. Give yourself a challenging, yet manageable content schedule that you can meet.

2. Create an Editorial Calendar

Set the schedule and topics for your content one month out from when they’re set to go live. That way, you won’t ever hold up the process because you run out of ideas.

3. Pick a Day

If you always go to the gym at 6:00 P.M. on weekdays, you hardly ever forget right? The same goes for your content. Pick a time, day, or month where you create all your content and get it ready.

4. Schedule Your Posts

Hootsuite schedules Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram posts so you can write them beforehand. Use it!

5. Delegate

It’s hard to be a one-man or one-woman band. Handling all your content on top of your regular responsibilities is a huge undertaking. Delegate with other teammates or freelancers. Split it up by blog, website content, social media, and other buckets. This way, everyone will be in charge of a piece of the puzzle and you can stay on track.

6. Make Time for Research

If you run out of ideas, it’s hard to keep content going. Research your competition, check out trending topics, and think outside the box about how your content can evolve.

7. Don’t Make Excuses

Once you commit to creating and publishing content, don’t make excuses as to why you don’t need to do it. This should always be one of the top three priorities in your day.
